Imbolc
Imbolc marks the midpoint between the winter solstice and the spring equinox in Celtic tradition. Also known as St. Bridget's Day, it honors the Celtic goddess Brigid, later Christianized as St. Bridget. St. Bridget's Day now intertwines with Imbolc, commemorating the Irish saint's contributions to education, healing, and agriculture.
Since 2023, a public holiday (championed by the Greens!) is now afforded to workers for Imbolc. This year that public holiday will take place on Monday February 5th.
In the spirit of Imbolc, this year I will host various events over the course of the week. Check them out below!
