Work in Ireland

I was elected to the European Parliament in 2019. It was a proud achievement for me, which came about with dedication and teamwork from supporters including the Waterford Greens and other local Green Party groups, and the trust of voters throughout my Constituency. I am grateful, and take the responsibility very seriously.

So, where is Ireland South?

Ireland South Constituency consists of my home county of Waterford as well as counties Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Clare, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wicklow and Wexford. It’s a large area, but throughout it, we have local Green Party groups, with TDs and Councillors elected in most areas. In counties throughout Ireland South, we are well-served in the Oireachtas by Senator Pippa Hackett from Offaly, who is Minister of State for Land Use and Biodiversity; Malcolm Noonan TD from Kilkenny, who is Minister of State for Heritage and Electoral Reform; my fellow Waterford-Green, Marc O’Cathasaigh TD; Brian Leddin TD in Limerick; Steven Mathews TD in Wicklow and Senator Róisín Garvey in Clare.

With my fellow Green Party MEP Ciarán Cuffe, along with our Oireachtas colleagues; elected Green Party Councillors throughout the constituency; local reps; members and the wider general public, I want to work together to assist in bringing about transformative change on the ground, which will make life better for the people of the country I’m proud to call home.

By working together and forging links at a community, county, regional, national and international level, we can bring about the just transition that is vital for our future survival as a species in a healing planet.

At a constituency level I am in constant contact with the Green team on the ground here, engaging with stakeholders and doing everything I can to highlight and connect the day-to-day work I engage in at the European Parliament to constituents throughout Ireland South and beyond.
