About the event

MEP Katrin Langensiepen has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2019. She is a member of the Greens/EFA group in the Parliament alongside MEP Grace O'Sullivan.

Katrin is the only female MEP with a visible disability in the European Parliament. As such, she uses her vote to represent the voices of those who are too often forgotten. She is the Chairperson of the Interparliamentary Group of People with Disabilities and in her day-to-day work fights for the European Union to put more pressure on Member States to ensure that the EU finally fulfils its obligations under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).

Katrin is visiting Ireland on her 'The Future is Accessible' Tour where she will be visiting Cork, Waterford, Kilkenny, and Dublin. She will be meeting with disability activists, policy makers, carers, and service users all to get a better insight into what Ireland is like for people with disabilities. She will then take this knowledge and experience back to her policy making in Brussels.

MEP Grace O'Sullivan and MEP Katrin Langensiepen invite you to share your insights and lived experiences in an open discussion on independent living.

This event will take place in MEP Grace O'Sullivan's constituency office on Tuesday 20th February from 5.30 pm - 7 pm. Registration is essential.
